For 24 years, my wife and I, have been studying and applying ecological design practices in temperate, tropical/subtropical & dry land climates.
1999-2008 – we took courses in many fields and worked on various farms and permaculture sites, learning principles, skills, and applications of ecological design.
2009-2019 – we owned Spiral Ridge Permaculture, an off-grid education center, homestead, and design firm, sharing and teaching what we had learned, while bringing in world renown experts, that mentored us in related fields and advanced our understanding in varying disciplines.
2018-Present – we are the co-owners of Pig & Leaf Farm, where we integrate market gardening, flower farming, pastured hogs, agroforestry and more, in a dynamic landscape, restoring a once clear cut ridge top. We live off-grid, in a naturally built home, with our family as we continue to build a successful, dynamic farm business.
Fields of experience: permaculture design, agroforestry, market gardening, pastured pork, Holistic Management, organics, appropriate technology, natural building, Regrarian® design, earthworks, Keyline design, rainwater harvesting, homesteading, off-grid living, renewable energy, resiliency, soil food web and remineralization, forest gardening, bamboo agriculture and more.
